Delivery Information

Christmas delivery dates and cut-off times

Rigu really, really doesn't want to be the cause of any trouble or strife at Christmas with disappointments of packages not arriving in time, so it is recommended that if you want to ensure that you can delight someone on Christmas morning with a colourful camera accesory that you place your order early, as the Royal Mail's usually impressive delivery record does slow a bit during the Christmas rush. The following are the recommended last postal dates for international, european, and UK addresses. Please use these dates in conjunction with the expected dispatch times to work out if your order will arrive in time.

Friday 5 December Africa, Caribbean, Central & South America, Middle East

Saturday 13 December Western Europe (excluding Greece, Poland)

Free postage available on all UK orders

Rigu offers free shipping for all UK mainland orders, no matter what size of order. The free shipping option is a Royal Mail 2nd class service, but if you want your order quicker you can opt to upgrade to Royal Mail 1st class postage for a flat fee of £1.50. Additional postage options are always being considered to ensure that customers can get their orders when they want them, please feel free to get in contact if you need another option. Similarly, if you wish for a note to be placed on your package telling the delivery driver to leave your order with a neighbour or in a specified location (if you are not at home and the package won't fit in your letterbox) please leave a note in the comments when making your order so the note can be stuck to your package. Rigu cannot control whether the driver actually follows the note or not, but we'll always try our best.

European & international shipping costs more than sending a package around the UK, unfortunately that means Rigu can't offer free shipping for European and international customers. You will be charged the same (or in many cases less) than Rigu is charged at the Post Office, using a weight based system. I feel that this is the fairest system to international customers.

We can ship an order to anywhere that the Royal Mail will send a package, thankfully this covers just about the entire globe. If you happen to be one of those rare people that the Royal Mail don't cover, please do contact us and we will try our best to find a solution for you.

Dispatch times

Rigu tries to achieve same day dispatch on all orders placed before 3:30pm Monday-Friday (Rigu is available for customer services enquiries all week, but cannot dispatch orders on the weekend, with the exception of Saturday December 20th as that is the last date for 1st class delivery before Christmas). If you see the sign at the top of the page saying "same day dispatch before 3:30pm" that means that I am in the office and your order will get dispatched that day. If that sign isn't there, I still might get it dispatched on the same day, but it's not certain, and you should expect the package to be dispatch the next day, or on rare occasions the day after that.

Sometimes larger items going to European and International address are too large to be dispatched by Royal Mail (who have a size limit that covers all but the largest of DSLR bags on sale in the shop), in these cases a courier is required and same-day dispatch is not possible (though the courier will almost always be booked on the same day). The courier is usually a quicker service than Royal Mail Airmal (also known as 'International Standard'), so the package being dispatched a day later is usually not an issue.

* You're probably wondering why there is a nice photo of the milky way rising above the Langdale Pikes in the Lake District (taken by Mr. Rigu). Well, I thought that as a subject delivery information is pretty dry, you need it, it's good to know, but it is just a wall of text and we're all photographers here, we need something interesting to look at!
