Clear Streak Lens Flare Filter - 77mm (Demo Unit)

This is the clear streak filter that we used at The Photography Show. It's been handled a bit and put on some people's cameras, but shows very little sign of use. It doesn't come with the usual cardboard box, but I've put it in a protective plastic case so it's good and safe in both transport and storage.

This streak filter is really effective at adding a totally different mood or vibe to all kinds of photos. As you can see from the samples the effect works best when you have a strong, solid light source such as a street light or other bright spot of light. The effect does work on most kind of light but spots and bare bulbs look to give you the strongest flare. If you have no light source then you will get little to no effect from this filter.

• 77mm filter thread size.
• Get a step up ring if you have a different sized filter thread on your lens.
• Take the filter off the lens and go handheld with a 77mm filter adapter.
• Make the filter magnetic using our handy adapters. Great for hot swapping between filters.
• Rotatable when fitted. This allows you to turn the effect during a video, or change the direction of the flare in a still photo. I recommend rotating anti-clockwise (in the same direction as tightening the screw thread) to ensure the filter remains firmly attached to the lens at all times.
• Something to be aware of with this filter (and other streak filters) is that if you're focusing on something quite close at a wide aperture and have bokeh behind the subject, you will get the streaks on the subject, but the bokeh behind may have the stripes of the filter itself showing. You can avoid this by upping the aperture or pulling back and shooting from further away. This is shown in a couple of the sample photos. It's a look that I don't think many people will like, which is why I've highlighted it here, but I also don't think that close up shots where your subject is less than 50cm away are the main usage for this filter, so it's not something that I think will be encountered too often by users.
