Briolette - Prism Pop

This Briolette prism is lightweight, easy to handle, and makes you look a bit like a wizard (always a plus). The name "Briolette" comes from the style of gemstone cut that has been used on the glass. Strictly speaking, a briolette cut is meant to be a triangle, unlike the diamond shapes on this glass, but briolette appears to have a wider definition than it used to.

Like most prism photography products, this works best at focal lengths traditionally used for portraits (typically 50mm and longer) and wide apertures. You simply hold the glass part of the wand in front of your lens and move the prism around until you have a composition that you like. The multi-faceted glass creates unpredictable reflections, flares, and aberrations in your image, with each twist and turn creating a different unique effect for your photos that can't be truly recreated in post-processing. It's important to remember that there isn't really a right or wrong way to use a product like this. If you like the images, then you're using it correctly!
