This is a simple but multi-functional rope camera strap that's really useful for photographers using cameras with unusually sized lug mounts, or people that would rather using a string loop connection instead of split rings with their camera.

The quick release on the ring that connects the main body of the strap and the string loops makes this a great solution for people that like to remove the strap occasionally. This is often the case with landscape photographers that want to put their camera on a tripod and not have the strap in the way during long exposures, especially in windy conditions.

Specification

  • Approx 100cm long (there is a little slack in the rope so it will stretch a bit depending on the weight of camera used), 1cm thick rope
  • Tested by Rigu to 10kg with no damage or deformation
  • String loop connection (two sizes in package)
  • Suitable for lug mount cameras
  • Constructed from nylon and faux leather

Package Contents

  • 1x Camera Strap
  • Connection rings.
  • 2x pairs of string loops connectors (1x thick, 1x thin)

Comments & Notes

Just because a camera strap is strong doesn't mean you should put a heavy camera on it. At 10mm wide, this rope strap is nice and comfortable with a rangefinder style camera, or a mirrorless camera with a small lens attached. If you attach it to a big, heavy DSLR with a 70-200mm lens on it (or bigger) it's going to take that weight just fine, but it's not going to be a comfortable experience on your neck. For heavyweight setups check out other straps in our range that can spread that weight across your body more.

At 100cm long this strap tends to sit a bit above the stomach on most people when worn around the neck, and it could also be suitable as a shoulder strap. This length isn't usually long enough to be worn across the body.

Whilst this is described as a "quick release" strap, it does still take a little time to get it off. You open the ring and then thread the strap connector through, which takes a few seconds on each side. That's probably a good thing, as it means it's almost impossible to remove the strap accidentally whilst you're wearing it.

The strap comes with two kinds of string loop connection, one thick and one thin. The thicker loops are appropriate for attaching to a split ring, or to a flat mount on the camera itself, whilst the thinner string loops are for attaching directly to a lug mount.

If your camera has a single attachment point (as is sometimes the case on a point and shoot or some older cameras) there is also a larger quick release ring in the package that allows you thread both ends of the strap onto it, and also one of the string loop connectors. You can then wear your camera in a lanyard style.
