Wuben C3 Torch

"Andy, what torch should I use with light painting tools?"

It's a question that I get asked a lot from new and experienced light painters. There are lots of options out there, but I really like the Wuben C3 and it's what I use for all the product testing here at Rigu. It was recommended to me by a number of light painters and I think it's a great quality torch that has all the features we need to create fantastic images.

Features

• 4 power levels allow you to control the strength of light when producing your image. 
• The strobe mode (and SOS mode) allows you to create light painting effects that aren't possible by hand.
• Power button (also used to change modes) on the end of the torch.
• Memory function. The torch remembers what power level you were previous using when you turn it back on. This helps you get even exposure levels if you're swapping between colours or tools on the torch during a light painting.
• It's form factor is perfect for fitting into the Light Painting Brushes Universal Connector. At 121.5mm long and 25.4mm wide (not counting the removable pocket clip) it's just the right size for light painters.
• USB-C charging port right on the body of the torch.
• Powerful 2600mAh battery. In eco mode (5 lumens) the battery will last for 143 hours before going flat. You'll probably be using the medium (400 lumens & 3.5 hours) and low (80 lumens & 20 hours) modes when light painting, so you've got plenty of time to create beautiful photos. On high mode you'll get 2.5 hours at 500 lumens, and there's also turbo mode which pumps out 1200 lumens (and quite a lot of heat) for 1 minute before dropping back to high mode. The battery is removable, so you can swap it out for another once one goes flat and keep light painting all night long!
• IP68 rating. It's *not* waterproof, but it will survive for up to an hour in 2m of water, which is great for those times when you're out light painting and get caught out by the rain.
