Alonefire X004 White/Red/Green/Blue Torch

The Alonefire X004 WRGB torch is a great solution for quickly changing colours when you're doing light painting photography. Simply half-depress the end cap switch and it will switch colour. It will also change colour easy time it is turned off and on.

The torch comes with an 18650 battery and a USB charger (you cannot charge the battery whilst it is in the torch). It also comes with a battery holder that allows you to use 3x AAA batteries (not included).

Comments & Notes

• Brightness: Alonefire don't make any lumen claims, though they do state that the lighting distance is a beam of 100-200m (I personally believe that the beam would be shorter than this). As this torch uses a separate LED for each colour, there's only so much light that can be produced for a single colour, so the brightness of this in white mode is nowhere near the high level of our other torch, the Wuben C3. There is more than enough light produced for most light painting applications, especially smaller tools like light writers.
• Size: The head size of 35mm is compatible with the Light Painting Brushes Universal Connector, which can take a torch with a maximum size of 38mm.
• Switch: The on/off switch (push button) is located on the end of the torch. This is important for light painting as it is not at the end with the universal connector so you will have unobstructed access whilst light painting. The switch is recessed to make it unlikely you will accidentally change the colour or turn it off during usage.
• How to change colours: When you turn the torch on the first colour will be white. If you depress the switch lightly and feel some resistance from the spring of the switch then bring it back up you will cycle through the colours in the following order, blue, green, red, and then back to white. You can also quickly click the torch on and off to cycle through the colours. If you turn it off and it remains off for more than 2 seconds it will default back to white, the X004 does not retain memory of it's previous colour state.
