Centre Spot Creative Blur Filter

Get your images crisp and sharp in the middle with a delicious doughnut of blur around the edge, along with some ethereal halos and ghosting around your subject.

• Available in 58/67/72/77/82mm filter thread sizes. If a size is not listed in the drop down it is currently sold out.
• Screw-in filter
• Get a step up/down ring if you have a different sized front-thread on your lens.
• Take the filter off the lens and go handheld with a 77mm filter adapter.
• The filter is slightly convex, and so does not have a front thread on it. If you want to stack filters this one will need to be at the front of the stack.
• This filter is not rotatable when fitted. As the effect is the same at any angle this makes no difference to it's performance.

Tips & General Usage

There is no wrong way to use a creative filter like Centre Spot. If you like the images you're producing that's all that matters. But 

• Most AF systems will focus on the centre because the edges are so blurred, but I recommend setting your AF point to the centre of the frame, as this may save your AF from hunting around and you missing a shot.
• I like using this filter at a low aperture. At below f4 you should get a nice and smooth transition between the sharp and blurred areas.
• If you're a film photographer, I'd recommend trying the filter on a digital camera first to get a better sense of its effects before using it with your precious film.

Sizing

This filter is currently available with a 77mm filter thread. With filters like these you can use them with a step up/down ring to make them compatible with other lenses, but be aware that extreme step sizes (like 49-77mm) will affect how much of the effect will be visible in photos, as the blurry section of the will be overhanging the sides of smaller lenses. You will still see some of the effect, especially when using wider focal lengths, but it will be less than when using a lens with a large front element. With step down rings please be aware that you are likely to have vignetting in your photos that may require cropping in post-production.
